John D. Covino's Obituary
John D. Covino, 69, of Manlius, father and beloved grandfather, passed away Wednesday unexpectedly in Florida. John was born on December 12, 1942 to Patrick B. and Marguerite Covino of Fayetteville. John graduated from Manlius Pebble Hill in ’61 and went on and graduated from American International College in ’65 and Syracuse University School of Law in ‘68. John practiced law for over 40 years. He was a member of Lakeshore Country Club and loved to golf. John enjoyed spending the winters in Juno Beach. But John’s greatest treasures were his two grandsons that he loved more than anything in the world.
He was predeceased by his father, Patrick B. in 2005. Surviving are his two sons, Patrick W. (Corinne) and John D. Jr., his two grandsons, Joseph Michael and Paul Benedict; his mother, Marguerite (Plony) Covino; his sister, Laurel; his brother, Martin and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 am in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME and 12:10 pm in St. Daniel's Church. Entombment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Dewitt. Family and friends may call at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY on Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.
