John F. Ferrara's Obituary
John F. Ferrara, 66, of Syracuse, passed away on June 17, 2026. He is survived by his wife of nearly 40 years, Christine (Prietti) Ferrara; his children, Maria Ferrara (Mick Sicchio) and Michael Ferrara; his sisters, Karen Ferrara and Susan Heron (Jimmy), and several nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Lucille (Lombardo) Ferrara.
A lifelong resident of Syracuse, John grew up in Lyncourt and graduated from North Syracuse High School. He was an avid sports fan and accomplished pool player, competing in tournaments in the United States and Canada. He could often be found with friends at the former Caps Cue Club on Teall Avenue. In 2021 John retired from Syracuse Banana Company after 25 years.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, June 22, 2026 from 3:00pm – 5:00pm at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Road Syracuse, NY 13212.
Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service at 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at Assumption Cemetery, 2401 Court Street Syracuse, NY 13208.
