John David Gouchie's Obituary
John David Gouchie, 59, of Phoenix, NY passed away Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at Upstate University Hospital with his beloved family by his side. He was born in Syracuse, NY and attended Cicero High School. John was the strongest, most hardworking, and loyal man you could ever hope to know – always putting others before himself and helping wherever he could. He was a protector and would sacrifice anything for those he loved. John was a devoted Ironworker Foreman at Raulli & Sons, Inc. for 32 years which comprised a huge part of who he was. He thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors, bicycle riding, fixing things, cars, junk yards, vacationing in Maine, helping family and friends, and of course, the Grateful Dead.
He was predeceased by his father James E. Gouchie and mother, Theresa (Maida) Gouchie. John is survived by his loving wife, Sybil; his two children, Benjamin, and Jillian; his grandson, Miles; his sister, Rosemarie (Gary) Owens; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2021 from 4:00-6:00 pm at the THAOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME 3401 Vickery Rd (Corner of Buckley Rd.) N. Syracuse, NY 13212 with a prayer service and sharing of memories to follow at 6:00 pm. Burial will be held at a later date in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, 8668 County Rt 57, Baldwinsville, NY.
