John B. Husted's Obituary
John B. Husted, 90, of Westfield, MA, passed away Friday at Renaissance Manor in Westfield. He was born in Syracuse, NY to Mary A. (Miller) and Herbert B. Husted. John was a member of University United Methodist Church for sixty years before moving out of the Syracuse area. He was a World War II Veteran of the Mediterranean Theater, having served in the Army Air Corps from 1942 to 1945. His career of radio and electrical service started at Morris Distributing, during which he installed the first sound system in the Onondaga County War Memorial. He spent 19 years working for General Electric as a research technician, and retired after ten years at O. M. Edwards. Hard work was John's ethic, but time spent in the Adirondacks with family was his joy.
John is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Mary (Smith) Husted; four sons, Wayne (Loretta) of Elbridge, Daniel (Lisa) of Baldwinsville, Timothy (Linda) of Ansbach Germany and David (Esther) of West Springfield, MA; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Family and friends may call at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse on Wednesday from 4 to 6 P.M. with a funeral service to follow immediately after. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hospice of your choice.
