John Howard Leahy, 91, of Liverpool, passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2021 from heart failure and pneumonia complications. He was born in Syracuse, son of the late Edna and George Leahy and attended St. Anthony of Padua High Scho Read Obituary

I didn't know about this until the Sunday paper, and I'm so sorry I missed his funeral Mass. I feel like I've lost a true friend despite the fact we only were together at daily Masses. He was a wonderful man and always fun and interesting to talk to. I will miss that big Irish grin and his friendly easy manner. My heart goes out to all of you.

We always enjoyed going to the river and visiting with John. His memory of days gone by and the names of those he served with and friends he worked with was special. People meant a lot to him. He meant a lot to us. We will truly miss him.

We were so sorry to hear of Jack's passing and our deepest sympathies to Ellen, and the girls. He was a great neighbor and we will miss our outside chats. Jack leaves behind a beautiful family. The St Lawrence River has lost a great friend.

John was like a second dad growing up. I'll miss him. My condolences to Ellen and the girls families.
Ellen, we’re so sad to hear of Jack’s passing. He was very much a lifelong friend of our family. It was always a part of being at the river to see him there, working around the house or the yard or later, wisely directing Jeff, Tim and Mitch in the various projects that were always going on there. He would always greet us with a wave or cheerful words. It was always clear that he was happy to be right there. Debbie, Steve and I knew Jack our entire lives and we will miss seeing him there. We know he will be with us in spirit. After all, where else would he be than up at the river?
