John A. Leogrande's Obituary
John A. Leogrande, 87, of Liverpool, passed away on Wednesday at home with his loving family by his side. He was born in Syracuse and was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII. John was a communicant of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and horse racing. John retired from Cooper/Crouse Hinds after 38 years of service. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 51 years, Santa (Matarazzo) Leogrande in 2002. John is survived by his two daughters, Marie (Richard) Pullano of Syracuse and Margaret Leogrande (Michael Fiorentino) of Marcellus; grandson, Anthony Paparo who is currently serving with the National Guard in Bahrain; brother, Victor (Pearl) Leogrande of Grayslake, IL; brothers-in-law, Very Rev. Salvatore Matarazzo, O.P. and Joseph Maiorano; sisters-in-law, Mrs. Theresa Filippone, Mrs. Margaret Hennen, Mrs. Anthony Matarazzo and many nieces and nephews. John's family wishes to extend their appreciatoin and gratitude to the team members at Hospice of CNY. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 8:30 am in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME and 9:30 am in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse on Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.
