John C. Longo's Obituary
John C. Longo, 82, passed away peacefully at Syracuse Home on Thursday, July 15, 2021. He was born in Syracuse to the late Sebastian and Rose (Monico) Longo. John worked over 30 dedicated years with Carrier Corp. He enjoyed building model airplanes and was an avid baseball fan.
Besides with his parents, John was predeceased by his brothers, Anthony, Michael L., and Basil Longo and his sister, Mary Bugge.
John is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Sandra A. (Giacchi) Longo; his daughter, Rose Anne (Charlie) Van Lew; his son, Michael A. (Heather Wood) Longo; his granddaughter, DiAnne Van Lew; his sister, Bernadette DelVecchio; Brother-in-law, Alphonse R. (Judith) Giacchi; Sister in law, Marie (Marnell) Longo; his loving dog, Annie; along with several nieces and nephews.
John’s family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Syracuse Home for the compassionate care given to him during his stay.
Family and friends may call from 4 – 7 pm on Monday, July 19, 2021, at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) Syracuse, NY. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, July 20, 2021, at the funeral home, followed by a funeral mass in celebration of John’s life at 11:30 am in Sacred Heart Church, Cicero. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Syracuse, NY.
