John was predeceased by his loving wife of 59 years, Annette (De Rosa) Maselli in 2018. Also predeceasing him were his sisters, Betty Norris, and Irene Lotito.

Stark of Manlius; and four great- grandchildren – Anthony J. Maselli, Clodagh, Amelia, and Shamus Kelly. John was a proud Navy Veteran serving during the Korean War from 1951 –1954 on the USS Wisconsin. John achieved the rank of Quartermaster Third Class and received medals for National Defense Service, United Nations Service, Korean Service, Good Conduct, and NYS Merit. After his honorable discharge, John worked as a clerk for the U.S. Post Office for over 32 years. John was an avid sports fan, great bowler and enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and tending to his garden in the summer. He loved watching and going to baseball games, especially the Syracuse Chiefs when he was growing up and of course, the NY Yankees. John graduated from North High in 1948 and played the bugle in the Drum Corp.
John was a quiet, fun-loving man with a heart of gold. He didn’t often say much but had a quick and sharp sense of humor adding great one-liners to most conversations! He taught all his kids and grandkids how to play cards since they were very little starting by building card houses with them on the living room floor. John loved spending time with his family, going to gatherings, sharing stories from his days in the Navy, and celebrating the holidays with his classic coffee royale!
