John F. McMahon's Obituary
John F. McMahon passed away on March 1, 2021 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Syracuse NY.
He was born in Auburn NY on February 8, 1941 to Francis A. and Marie Farrell McMahon. His younger years were spent in Auburn and then in Syracuse NY where he attended Nottingham HS and Cathedral Academy where he was on the basketball team (parochial league). He had a great personality, was a lot of fun and was lucky enough to have a new 1957 Chevy convertible "to tool around in"! Throughout his life he enjoyed golfing, boating, watching SU sports, the NBA and the NY Yankees. He also considered himself the greatest pitch player ever, (the jury is out on that one)! Mr. McMahon was a salesman, working for many national companies notably, Oneida Silversmiths, Amico and Bank Building Corporation.
He is predeceased by his parents, brothers, David and Robert, many aunts and uncles. He is survived by his children, Mark, Lauren and Karen McMahon and three granddaughters, Marcy, Tierney and Victoria, many cousins, nieces and nephews, and his ex -wife, the mother of his children, Patricia.
A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date.
