John P. Nave 's Obituary
John P. Nave, 89, of Syracuse, passed away on Saturday. He was born in Newark, NJ and served with the US Army, 102nd Calvary Division during WWII, European Theatre and was a recipient of 2 Purple Hearts. John worked at Millbrook Bakery from 1949 to 1984 and then at Peter's Grocery, Shop City, later was called P&C and most recently Tops, where he was currently employed. He was a member of B & C Local 116 and United Food and Commercial Workers Local One. He also was a member of the Syracuse Stamp Club. He was predeceased by his wife, Louise Nave in 1995. John is survived by his 3 sons, Charles R. (Betsy) Nave of Syracuse, Marino Nave of Syracuse and Dr. Dennis J. (Ann) Nave of Jamesville; 6 grandchildren, Brian, Kristen, Kathryn, Andrea, Dennis John Jr. and Allison Nave; great-granddaughter, Charlie Nave; brother, Gerald (Donna) Nave of Union, NJ; 2 sisters, Laura Domina of Phoenix, AZ and Rose Nave of NJ; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday at 9:00 am in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse and 10:00 am in Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum . Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4 to 7 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the CNY SPCA, 5878 East Molloy Road, Syracuse, NY 13211.
