John Anthony Quinn's Obituary
John Anthony Quinn, age 63, passed away on April 21, 2024, at his home in Mason, Ohio.
John was born in Syracuse, NY on July 20, 1960, to John and Elizabeth Quinn and attended St. John the Baptist Catholic School. After high school, he joined the United States Marine Corps. and served from 1978 to 1982. He married Denise Missigman on November 18, 1994.
John was quite a storyteller who often entertained others with detail and perhaps a bit of embellishment. He was not necessarily a traditional outdoorsman, but he loved spending time with his son John, on his property in Peebles, target shooting, riding his four-wheeler, and riding his big green John Deere tractor. John had been an avid golfer and enjoyed spending time with his loved ones. He became quite a foodie and would welcome folks to his house by cooking something up just for them. Whether you arrived hungry or not, you could not resist the creation knowing it was prepared just for you and would taste amazing.
John is survived by his wife, Denise, son, John Anthony Quinn II, siblings: Mary (George) Oley, Sarah (Harvey) Hooper, Elizabeth (Gary) Clark, Margaret Quinn, and Thomas (Jeremey) Love. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, friends and his dogs, Milo and Molly.
He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Ann Giacobbe.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, from 4:00 – 6:00 P.M., immediately followed by a funeral service in celebration of John’s life at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME 3401 Vickery Rd. (Corner of Buckley Rd.) N. Syracuse, NY 13212.
