John Sardella's Obituary
John Sardella, 77, of East Syracuse, passed away Friday at St. Joseph's Hospital. He was born in Syracuse, the son of the late John and Nancy (Vurraro) Sardella. John retired from James Square Health and Rehabilitation Center. He enjoyed the casino, playing cards, golf and bowling.
He was predeceased by his son, John Michael Sardella in 1981. John is survived by his wife of 57 years, Patty "Pauline" (Haas) Sardella; three daughters, Patricia A. Pickard of Syracuse, Debra L. (Dan Smith) DeFio of Brewerton and Susan M. (Paul D.) Dooling of Wake Forest, NC; eight grandchildren, Brian and Andrew Pickard, Janelle (Adam) Phillips, Jason, John and Jameson DeFio, David and Allie Dooling and eight great-grandchildren.
A funeral mass in celebration of John's life will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 am in Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church. Family and friends may call at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse on Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.
