John J. "Peeka" Tracy, Jr.'s Obituary
John J. “Peeka” Tracy, Jr., 62, of Liverpool, passed away peacefully at home in his sleep on Saturday, July 29, 2017. John was born in Bronx, NY, son of the late John J. Tracy, Sr. and Mary (Toomey) Tracy. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and made many wonderful memories with family at the Jersey shore. John was lovingly nicknamed “Peeka” by his eldest grandson Brian Joseph, and he later became known as this by everyone. He retired from Syracuse China in 2007, after many years of dedicated service.
Other than his parents, he was also predeceased by his step-father, Richard Merrill.
John is survived by his children; John & Jennifer Tracy, Shannon & James Vavonese, Keely & Brian Parker, all of Liverpool, and Ryan Tracy of Cicero; their mother, Theresa Tracy; eight grandchildren, Brian, Camren, Johnny, Emma, Sophia, Leigha, Jimmy, and Brielle; two brothers, Michael (Karen) Tracy, and Thomas (Kathy) Tracy; three sisters, Maryanne Tracy, Patricia (John) Beaudoin, and Keenie (Joe) Hunter, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 am on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Margaret’s Church. Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Friday, August 4, 2017 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley) North Syracuse, NY. Private burial will be in Assumption Cemetery at a later date.
