John M. "Jack" Verrette's Obituary
John M. “Jack” Verrette, 90, of Liverpool, passed away March 2, 2025, at Bishop Rehab and Nursing. He was born in Syracuse, son of the late Ernest and Mary (Lawley) Verrette. Jack worked at Hamford and Rose Litho in Mattydale. He was a lifetime member of the Pastime Athletic Club. Jack was an avid SU fan, and enjoyed golfing, bowling and playing cards.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son, James Verrette; his stepdaughter, Laura Jones; and sister, Anne McKenney.
Jack is survived by his wife of 50 years, Catherine “Kitty” (Phillips) Lutz Verrette; six stepchildren, Diane Morrison, Donna (Gary) Cole, Amy (Michael) Hodgson, Philip (Eileen) Lutz, Paul Lutz and Connie (Jack) Farden; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2025, from 11:15 am – 12:15 pm, immediately followed by a funeral service in celebration of Jack’s life at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY. Private burial will be in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
