John A. Walters' Obituary
John A. Walters, 98, of Syracuse, passed away Saturday at St. Joseph's Hospital. He was born on October 19, 1914 in Syracuse, NY. John was a U.S. Army veteran and served in Pearl Harbor. He retired from Allied Chemical, Solvay Process after 27 years of service. John enjoyed fishing, reading, watching SU and golf games and loved taking pictures of the family and developing them.
He was predeceased by his wife, Rose (Ricciardiello) Walters in 1999. John is survived by his son, Frank (Linda) Walters of Liverpool and his daughter, Anne Marie Greco of Liverpool; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 8:00 am in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME and 9:00 am in Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse on Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.
