Jonathan "Jon" Grant Liberty's Obituary
Jonathan “Jon” Grant Liberty, 37, of Brewerton, New York, passed away on April 8, 2026.
Jon was a graduate of John C. Birdlebough High School in Phoenix, New York, and the SUNY Canton Civil Engineering Technology program. He went on to become owner of Lakefront Glass LLC, where his hard work, skill, and service reflected his strong character.
Jon will be remembered for his love of the outdoors and the joy he found in life’s simple pleasures. Whether hunting at dawn, fishing for walleye and trout, bowling with friends, or enjoying the thrill of sprint car racing, he lived a grounded life marked by his easygoing nature and genuine integrity.
His happy place was “Camp Liberty,” where some of his most cherished memories were made, remaining a constant throughout both his childhood and adult life. He spent his early years climbing trees, exploring the woods, hunting with family and friends, and gathering around bonfires under the night sky. Camp Liberty was more than just a second home to him—it was where his adventurous spirit took root, lifelong memories were created, and his love for the outdoors and for those closest to him grew deepest.
Jon shared 15 loving years with his wife Susan, his best friend and greatest companion. He affectionately called her “Mama Bear” and “Buddy,” a reflection of the love and friendship they shared.
Jon loved his family deeply. He is survived by his wife, Susan Liberty (Wolever); his mother, Agnes Liberty; his father, Lawrence Liberty (Cheri Bradshaw); his beloved siblings, Jessica Liberty (Ben Liddle), Rachel Liberty Voisinet (Dustin Voisinet), and Erin Liberty Carrillo (Phillip Carrillo); his mother-in-law, Maria Wolever, and father-in-law, David Wolever; his sisters- and brothers-in-law, Christy and Richard Kirk, Nathan Higgins and Kelly Michaels, Monique Wolever and Roy Bresnahan, and Adam and Brigitte Wolever. He was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Jessica Higgins. He is also lovingly remembered by his 11 nieces and nephews.
The love he shared with his family will remain eternally in their hearts.
He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 12:00 – 2:00 P.M. at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, immediately followed by a funeral service in celebration of Jon’s life at 2:00 P.M. in the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (Corner of Buckley Rd.) Syracuse, NY 13212.
