Joseph "Joe" Aloi's Obituary
Joseph “Joe” Aloi, 93, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, January 4, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Syracuse, the son of the late Thomas and Thomasina (Forestiere) Aloi. Joseph was a U.S. Coast Guard Veteran serving in World War II. Joe retired from Carrier Corp. in the Research and Development Department after many years of service. He then was employed with Hancock International Airport as Supervisor of Security. Joe loved spending time with his family and many friends.
He was predeceased by his wife of 69 years, Nancy (Mignacca) Aloi in April, 2015 and two brothers, Frank Aloi and Anthony Aloi.
Joe is survived by his daughters, Toni (Vincent) Corbacio and Mary (Dennis) Phillips, both of Syracuse; six grandchildren, Michael and Thomas Valerino, Lauren (Kevin) Ryan, Mark (Ashley) Corbacio, Lindsey and Jon Phillips; seven great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 8:00 am on Thursday, January 7, 2016 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Joseph’s life at 9:00 am in St. Daniel’s Church. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 pm on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
