Joseph Alteri's Obituary
Joseph Alteri, 88, of Syracuse, passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at Iroquois Nursing Home. He was born in Syracuse, son of the late Louis and Louisa (Schavi) Alteri. Joseph served with the US Army during the Korean War. He was employed with Tip Top Bakery, retiring after over 30 years of service. Joseph was a sports enthusiast and enjoyed boxing and reading.
He is survived by his three sisters, Lucy Desimone of Florida, Angie (John) Timmons of Liverpool and Ann D’Orazio of Jamesville, and Joe Miller; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.
A Funeral Mass in celebration of Joseph’s life will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, June 13, 2016 at Our Lady of Pompei /St. Peter Church. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
