Joseph P. Barnes' Obituary
Joseph Peter Barnes, 56, of North Syracuse, passed away at his home on Monday, May 8, 2023. He was born in Syracuse to Joseph D. and Angeline (DiPino) Barnes and graduated from Liverpool High School and later from SUNY Geneseo where he was also a member of the Omega Beta Psi fraternity. Joe worked for many years as a team lead for Bloomberg INDG (STF) assisting businesses with creating unique tax forms. He was an avid sports fan, especially Formula 1 racing and football; he loved to spend time with his family and friends and always looked forward to reunions with his fraternity brothers.
He is predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Yolanda and Tony DiPino and his fraternal grandparents, Alice and Walter Barnes.
Joe is survived by his parents, Joseph and Angeline (DiPino) Barnes; his siblings, Michael (Jody) Barnes and Christine (Timothy) Latham; his nieces and nephews, Nicole (Jon) Henty, Michael (Allie Luttinger) Barnes, Corey (Julie) Barnes, and Morgan Latham; his two great-nephews, Kingston and Kylen Henty; along with numerous aunts and uncles as well as cousins.
Calling hours will take place on Thursday, May 11, 2023 from 4:00 – 6:00 P.M. at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse. A funeral service in celebration of Joe’s life will be held on Friday, May 12, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. at the funeral home, he will then be laid to rest in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Baldwinsville.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
