Joseph D. Barnes' Obituary
Joseph Daniel Barnes, 79, of Liverpool, passed away at Upstate University Hospital on July 22, 2023. He was born in Buffalo, NY to the late Walter and Alice (Mooney) Barnes and graduated from East Syracuse High School. Joe retired in 2005 from Nationwide Insurance after a long career as a claims adjuster.
He enjoyed reading, golfing, keeping up on current events, and spending time with his family and friends.
Along with his parents, Joe is predeceased by his son Joseph P. Barnes, and his sister Honor Carpenter.
Joe is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Angeline (DiPino) Barnes; his children, Michael (Jody) Barnes and Christine (Timothy) Latham; his grandchildren, Nicole (Jon) Henty, Michael (Allie Luttinger) Barnes, Corey (Julie) Barnes, and Morgan Latham; his two great-grandchildren, Kingston and Kylen Henty; his brother James Barnes, along with numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will take place on Wednesday July 26, 2023, from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse. A funeral service in celebration of Joe’s life will be held on Thursday July 27, 2023, at 10:00 A.M. at the funeral home, burial will follow in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Baldwinsville.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
