Joseph M. Cardone's Obituary
Joseph M. Cardone, 81, of Syracuse, passed away on Thursday at the Francis House surrounded by his loving family. Born in Syracuse, he served with the US Navy from 1948 to 1949 and 1950 to 1952. He was employed as an Electrician for over 30 years, retiring in 1995 and was a member of IBEW Local 43. Joseph was an avid golfer and gardener. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Elisa (Pompi) Cardone; 4 children, Michael L. Cardone of Syracuse, Mark J. (Rosita) Cardone of Liverpool, Lisa A. Bombardieri of Syracuse and Joseph A. Cardone of Syracuse; 5 grandchildren, Mark (Joyce) Cardone, Jr., Lynnea (John) Ginty, Denise (Cory) Dack, Erica Cardone and Joseph M. Cardone; 4 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Rose Cresce of Syracuse and Amy (Frank) Gonzalez of Liverpool; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday at 11:30 AM in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY and 12:30 PM in Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church, where a mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 4 to 7 PM. Contributions may be made to Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church or to the Francis House.
