Joseph S. Caruso's Obituary
Joseph S. Caruso, 80, of North Syracuse, passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at Crouse Hospital. He was born in Syracuse, son of Angelo and Jennie (Salerno) Caruso. Joseph was a truck driver and member of Teamsters Local 317. He was an avid baseball fan; he especially enjoyed watching the Red Sox. Joseph also enjoyed golfing, trips to the casino, and family picnics during the summer; he loved spending time with family and friends.
He was predeceased by his wife, Louise Janet (Crouse) Caruso in 2011; his brother, Rocco Caruso; four sisters, Grace M. Procopio, Carmella Collela, Mary Leo, and Nancy Walker.
Joseph is survived by four brothers, Anthony (Mary Ann) Caruso of Syracuse, Dominick (Mary Ellen) Caruso of Clifton Park, NY, Carmen (Monica) Caruso of N. Syracuse, and Angelo (Mary) Caruso, Jr. of N. Syracuse; his sister-in-law, Nancy Lee (Donald) Chrysler of Syracuse; special nieces and nephews, Carol, Charlene, Christine, and Sammy, along with several other nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 from 10 am – 12 pm at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Joseph’s life at 1 pm in Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery.
