Joseph Cordone's Obituary
Joseph Cordone, 97, of East Syracuse, passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2020. He was born in Syracuse, the son of the late Saverio and Josephine (Carozza) Cordone. He graduated from Blodgett Vocational High School in 1941. Joseph served as a Sergeant with the United States Army Air Force during WWII from 1942 to 1946, spending his time in India and China. He worked in sales at Modern Sales and Gem Sports, specializing in sporting goods and was an avid golfer and bowler, bowling several times a week up until the age of 95. In 2015, Joseph was inducted into the Syracuse Bowling Association Hall of Fame and that same year, was part of Honor Flight Mission #005 accompanied by his son-in-law, Brian.
He was predeceased by his wife, Anna Secreti Cordone in 2001; siblings, Concetta Salerno, Anthony Cordone, Leonard Cordone, Dominick Cordone and Rosemary Brennan.
Joseph is survived by his daughter, Joanne (Brian) Mroczek; two devoted granddaughters, Allyssa and Emily Mroczek; along with several loving nieces and nephews, numerous friends and his Syracuse Bowling Association Family.
