Joseph Michael Creno's Obituary
Joseph Michael Creno, 67, of Syracuse, passed away Tuesday at St. Joseph's Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Syracuse on February 1, 1945, the son of the late Michael and Rose Creno.
Joseph was a Professional Bowler and a huge advocate for the sport of bowling. He started his dream by opening his business, "Creno & Kelly Pro Shop". The pro shop became well known throughout the bowling, baseball and football community. Joseph and his business were sponsors of many local, state and national teams. He then continued his dream and opened a business with his cousins called "A & C Tops". That business provided sports apparel to many organizations and colleges. Joseph was also a former owner of Creno-Bowl Mor Lanes where he could watch his family and friends enjoy the sport he lived. In his younger years he was a Little League baseball player and then went on to play football for Tampa University. His love for bowling and the bowling community was indescribable. He was a member of the Men's Syracuse Bowling Association Hall of Fame. Joseph enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his family and friends.
He was predeceased by his wife, Kathleen Vibbert Creno. Joseph is survived by his two daughters, Kathy Creno and Jenny Creno; a sister, Antoinette Creno Pallotta; a nephew, Frank Pallotta; his aunt, Kathryn Nappi; his two uncles, Joseph Tripodi (Rose) and Carmen Tripodi (Susan); beloved extended family, Rosa Moro, Peter Moro and Annie Moro; several godchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 9:00 am in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME and 10:00 am in Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church, where a mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd.
