Joseph "Joe" Louis Tolone's Obituary
Joseph “Joe” Louis Tolone, 97, of North Syracuse, passed away December 12, 2020 at Loretto Health & Rehabilitation, where he was cared for by compassionate staff. Loving son of deceased parents, Mary Elizabeth (Metallo) and George B. Tolone, he was a proud U.S. Navy World War II veteran.
Joe was a doting husband to his wife of 73 years, Vivian (Mariani) Tolone, and loving father of Orrine (Walter) Kolodziey, Joann (David) Mondo, and Zoe (Steven) Sochor. He is survived by his grandchildren, Jennifer (Jake) Hafner, Nichole Bucci, Stephen Kolodziey and Sophia Acosta, as well as his great grandchildren, Emilia and Jacob Hafner and Jesse Acosta. He most certainly was met by his predeceased grandson, Zack Sochor.
Joe was predeceased by his eldest brother, Dominic Tolone, and three child siblings. He is survived by his brothers, Ralph Tolone, George (Phyllis) Tolone, and Gregory Tolone, as well as his sister, Teresa DeFranco, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Always the jokester, Joe was funny, warm-hearted and a great cook. He was a selfless man who taught his family what love looks and sounds like, and aside from the love he had for his children and grandchildren, his deep, abiding love for his wife, Vivian, will sustain him throughout eternity.
There will be no public calling hours, but a brief service will stream live from THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME at Noon, Thursday, December 17, 2020, please visit Joseph’s tribute page at tjpfuneralhome.com.
