Joseph S. Lepkowski's Obituary
Joseph S. Lepkowski, 92, of Liverpool, formerly of Eastwood, passed away at St. Camillus on Friday, November 7, 2014. He was born in Syracuse and served in the U.S. Army, with the rank of PFC during WWII. Joseph was the owner and operator of “Double A Cleaners” in the Valley for many years. He was an avid bowler and golfer, had a 300 game and a “hole-in-one”. Joseph loved joking and laughing with family and friends. He was affectionately known as “Grandpa Howdy” to his grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Lepkowski in 1993.
Joseph is survived by his daughter, Christine M. (Leonard) Granozio of Liverpool; his son, Stanley J. (Sheryl) Lepkowski of Albany; five grandchildren, Tracy (Michael) Trachsler, Nicholas J. Granozio, Andrew M. Granozio, Erica (Andy) Cracco, and Evan Lepkowski; his brother, Frank Lepkowski of Syracuse, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 8:00 am on Thursday, November 13, 2014 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a funeral mass in celebration of Joseph’s life at 9:00 am in St. Daniel’s Church. Entombment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
