Joseph A. Lobello's Obituary
Joseph A. Lobello, 90, of Syracuse, passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2011. Joseph was born to Sarah (Congel) Lobello and Nicholas Lobello on January 27, 1921. He graduated from North High School and served in the U.S. Army during WWII in Europe. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 32 years, the last 20 years as a Postal Inspector in Boston, Mass. He also held the position of recruiting and training new Postal Inspectors. Joseph was a member of the Association of Federal Investigators. After retirement, he returned to Syracuse and lived in Lyncourt and the Sedgwick area. He was predeceased by his first wife, Doris (Mancini) Lobello and his second wife, Susan (Vidito) Lobello; his sister, Lena Lobello; sister and brother-in-law, Jennie and John Reale; brother, Peter A. Lobello and niece, Linda (Lobello) Bray. Joseph is survived by his daughter, Lana (Jeffrey) Gillett of London, England; two granddaughters, Natalie and Nicole Gillett of London, England; brother, John A. (Gloria) Lobello of Liverpool; sister-in-law, Violet Lobello; aunts, Esther and Mary Congel and several cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday at 9:00 AM in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY and 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 to 5 PM.
