Joseph L. Marinelli's Obituary
Joseph L. Marinelli, 80, of Baldwinsville, passed away at home unexpectedly with his loving wife by his side on Friday, June 19, 2020. He was born in Syracuse, son of the late Vincent and Josephine Marinelli. Joseph served in the U.S. Army and was a very dedicated hard worker throughout his life. He worked as a baker for several local bakeries in the 60’s, was a special deputy for the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Department and retired from Crucible Steel after 37 years. Joseph was very devoted to his family, especially his beloved grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brother, Michael Marinelli. Joseph is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Anna (Delp) Marinelli; his daughter, Theresa (Terry) Meyers; his son, Joseph C. (Jennifer) Marinelli; four beloved grandchildren, Ryan, Sophie, Emma and Ethan Meyers; two brothers, Richard Marinelli and Family, Vincent Marinelli and Family, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, June 24, 2020 from 4:00 – 6:00 pm, immediately followed by a Funeral Service in celebration of Joseph’s life at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY. Private entombment will take place in Our Lady of Peace Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph’s Hospital.
