Joseph M. "Joe" O'Donnell's Obituary
Joseph M. “Joe” O’Donnell, 51, of North Syracuse, passed away at home peacefully with his loving family by his side, on Saturday, after a courageous battle with ALS. Born in Syracuse, Joe was a son of the late Thomas E. and Catherine (Behan) O’Donnell. Joe was full of life, he enjoyed fishing any chance he could, was an avid sports fan, listening to music, and especially spending time with his family and friends.
Other than his parents, Joe was also predeceased by his brother John T. O’Donnell.
Joe is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Rosanna (Zappala) O’Donnell; his two boys, Matthew and Patrick O’Donnell; four brothers, Dennis, Thomas E., Morgan J. (Sharon), and Matthew O’Donnell; his sister Mary Pat O’Donnell; Rosanna's parents, Guiseppe and Adriana (Palucci) Zappala; several nieces, nephews and cousins; along with many many friends and extended family.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 AM on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Joe’s life at 10:00 AM in St. Patrick’s Church, Syracuse. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Family and friends may call at from 4 to 7 PM on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY
