Joseph R. Panto's Obituary
Joseph R. Panto, 93, passed away on Wednesday at Crouse Hospital after living a full life. Born and raised in Syracuse, he worked hard to support his family working two jobs, one at the Forget-Me-Not Potato Chip Factory and the other at Prestolite, retiring there in 1976. He was a member of St. Daniel's Catholic Church. Joseph had a lot to live for, he loved to play golf, play cards, cook, fix everything, attend the NYS Fair and cater to his green thumb. He enjoyed his garden and was very proud of his roses. His backyard was one of his favorite places to be, sitting in the shade underneath his apple tree. Most of all he loved family, and when he was not with them in Syracuse, he enjoyed spending the summers in Baltimore, MD with his sister, brother, nieces and nephews. Joseph was an amazing man loved by all and will be greatly missed. At the end of every visit or conversation, he would always end by saying, "God Bless You." May God bless him now. He was predeceased by his wife, Margaret C. Manginelli in 1981, after 40 years of marriage. Also predeceased by his sisters, Concetta (Tony) Sartorio, Mary (Tony) Stefanski, brother, Thomas (Hilda) Panto and son-in-law, Jack A. Posenauer. Joseph is survived by his daughter, Mary Rose Posenauer and his son, Frank (Patty) Panto; grandchildren, Rene' Druce, Jay (Kim) Posenauer, Lisa Posenauer, Joe (Melissa) Panto of Boston, MA, Jeffrey Panto and his fiance' Qasha Diaz; five great-grandchildren, Samantha and Nicole Druce, Noah and Adelay Panto and Aubrey Panto; three step-grandchildren, Josh and Mikayla Mazur and Kelan Diaz; sister, Rosemary Panto; brothers, Norman (Pina) of Thousand Oaks, CA, John Panto of Baltimore, MD and Carmen Panto; also several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday at 8:00 AM in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY and 9:00 AM in St. Daniel's Church. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 to 5 PM.
