Jitterbug owned and operated Peter & Sons Dry Cleaners and Tailors for over 60 years with his family members. Joe lived a long life full of love, life, and happiness. He was a founding member of the Italian American Athletic Club, and a parishioner of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. He enjoyed playing his unlucky daily numbers and was an avid Yankee fan. Jitterbug especially loved spending time with his family and friends. He looked forward to his lunch meetings at Santangelo’s and Nick & Angelo’s with the best friends a guy could ask for.
He was predeceased by his parents Peter and Sarah (D’Agata) Principato and his brother Dominick.
He is survived by his loving, patient wife Catherine (Malara) Principato of 59 wonderful years; children, Sara (Tom) Sangster of North Syracuse, JoAnn (John) Meyers of Liverpool, Peter Principato of Liverpool, Lisa (Rob) Burbank of Newtown, Connecticut; his adoring grandchildren, David (Amy) Earl, Jeffery and Gina Meyers, Kyle, Eric, and Alex Burbank; his brother, Frank (Terry) Principato; many loving nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends all of whom will miss him dearly.
