Joseph Querino's Obituary
Joseph Querino, 91, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully, Monday, April 9, 2018 at Loretto. He was born in Syracuse, son of the late Joseph and Irene (Reales) Querino. Joseph worked several dedicated years with the City of Syracuse DPW. He was also Executive Director and President for AFSCME Council 66 AFL–CIO. Joseph enjoyed reading, spending time with family and friends, and loved Turner classic movies.
Besides his parents, he was also predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth Baker in 2009; 3 sisters; Peggy, Esther, Rosemary, and 1 brother David.
Joseph is survived by 6 children, Virginia Vercillo, Michael Querino, Kathleen (William) Hepp, Cynthia (Philip) Mulpagano, Lorraine (Dwayne) Carter, and Mark Querino; 10 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; a sister, Virginia (Hugo) Raulli, along with several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 am on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Joseph’s life at 10:00 am in Sacred Heart Church of Cicero. Entombment will be in St. Mary’s Mausoleum. Family and friends may call from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
