Joseph F. Rivizzigno Jr.'s Obituary
Joseph F. Rivizzigno, Jr., 77, of Cicero, passed away September 5, 2023, at Upstate University Hospital with his family by his side. He was born in Syracuse, son of the late Joseph F. and Lois E. (Duff) Rivizzigno. Joe was a member of the last graduating class of Onondaga Valley Academy and Captain of the last varsity football and baseball teams. He was a Vietnam era veteran, serving with the U.S. Air Force from 1967-1971, and a member of Cicero American Legion Post 787. Joe retired from Midstate Printing Corp., serving as Pressroom Supervisor for 18 years. He was also a firefighter with the Belgium Cold Springs Volunteer Fire Dept. for several years. Joe was an avid SU sports fan, and past member of Radisson Greens Golf Club and Beaver Meadows Golf Club.
Joe is survived by his best friend and fiancé, Margaret “Peg” Sherman, who he was able to share so many memories and good times with. He is also survived by his son, Mike (Marci) Rivizzigno; two daughters, Jaime Feinberg-Banks, and Sara Rivizzigno; four grandsons, Christopher, Aidan, Bennett, and Vincent.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2023, from 10 am – 12 pm, immediately followed by a funeral service in celebration of Joseph’s life at noon at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY. He will be laid to rest with Military Honors in North Syracuse Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Joseph’s name may be made to Cicero American Legion Post 787 or Clear Path for Veterans.
