Joseph N. Ruscitto's Obituary
Joseph N. Ruscitto, 86, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2015 with his wife and family by his side. He was a hard-working and dedicated family man. He started working at Continental Can on Syracuse’s north side where he met the love of his life, Antoinette (DiDomenico). Joe’s skill with his hands and love of carpentry led to employment at Giarusso & Sons and Marcellus Casket. He then worked at GE for 22 years as a master cabinet refinisher. He left GE to work as a custom ornamental steel fabricator for his life-long friend Guido Raulli at Raulli & Sons, where he retired from in 2009 at the age of 80. He was a passionate card player, golfer and bowler. Among his achievements was to build his own home and help his children to do the same. Mr. Ruscitto was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Cicero and long-time member of their Holy Name Society.
Happily married for 66 years to Antoinette (DiDomenico), he is also survived by five children, Frank (Diane) Ruscitto, Daniel (Kathryn) Ruscitto, Joseph (Gina) Ruscitto, Deborah (Clifford) Kelley, Christina (Kenneth) Walsleben; and a sister, Elizabeth (Leon) Bill. He was particularly proud of his grandchildren, Danielle (Jeffrey) Ruscitto, Kristen (Alicia) Ruscitto-Donato, Elizabeth Ruscitto, Renee Ruscitto, Lance CPL Anthony Ruscitto, USMC, Jesse LaBarre, Cassandra LaBarre; great-grandchildren, Dylan Hess, Tyler Harris, Marvin Ruscitto-Donato, and Janae Ruscitto-Donato, step-grandchildren; Jeremy Kelley, Holly Kelley, Tabetha Carns, Ted and Paige Thompson, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Joseph’s family would like to thank PACE of CNY, St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center and especially Cindy Schaap, for all their help and care.
