Joseph A. Sauro's Obituary
Joseph A. Sauro, 86, of Liverpool, passed away peacefully Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at St. Camillus Health & Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Italy, the son of the late Onofrio and Lucia Sauro. Joseph retired from Allied Chemical after 38 years of service. He was an usher for St. Margaret’s Church and a volunteer at Crouse Spiritual Care Department as a Eucharistic Minister for 18 years. Joseph was a long time Notre Dame fan.
He was predeceased by his wife, Virginia Sauro in 1991.
Joseph is survived by his two daughters, Linda (Patrick) McBride of Long Island and Lori (Edmund) Pietruniak of Syracuse; three grandchildren, Patrick (Candace) McBride, Steven and Scott Pietruniak; one brother, Anthony (Vera) Sauro of Chicago, IL, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 8:30 am on Monday, December 28, 2015 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Joseph’s life at 9:30 am in St. Margaret’s Church, Mattydale. Entombment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call from 1:00 – 4:00 pm on Sunday, December 27, 2015 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
