Joseph A. Tinuzzo's Obituary
Joseph A. Tinuzzo, 96, of Cicero, passed away Tuesday at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Syracuse, the son of Mario and Frances (Lamacchia) Tinuzzo. Joe served with the U.S. Army in World War II and was overseas in China, Burma and India for 4 years. He retired from Crouse Hinds after 25 years of service and was a member of their Quarter Century Club. Joe coached Little League Baseball for 12 years in the late 50’s and early 60’s for the Lyncourt Pottery Team. An avid New York Yankees fan, he loved golf and especially playing with his grandson Jeffrey. He was a former Head Caddy Master at the Lakeshore Yacht & Country Club in the l930’s. Joe was the family “Caregiver” and was there for everyone no matter what their needs were, and always by their side. He was predeceased by his son, Joseph Tinuzzo in 2006.
Joe is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Mary A. (Grosso) Tinuzzo; three children, Francine (David) Cooney of Cicero, Lillian (Thomas) Shattuck of Clay, and Michael Tinuzzo of Clay; his grandson, Jeffrey Cooney; his brother, Frank Tinzuzzo of Norfolk, VA., several nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family would like to especially thank Hospice of CNY for their tender and loving care of Joe during his illness. A celebration of Joseph’s life was held at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME at the convenience of the family. Entombment was in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum.
