Joseph Michael Tomczyk's Obituary
Joseph Michael Tomczyk (aka Boogie Joe) went to be with the Lord on April 16, 2019. Born in Syracuse, he attended North High School before graduating from Henninger High School in 1966. He served in the U.S. Army and was a two tour Vietnam veteran with the Big Red One, First Infantry Division. He retired from New Venture Gear. Joe had many passions in life that included his family, especially his grandchildren. He also loved fishing, Harley’s, boating, clambakes, spending time at his camp, vacationing in Florida, and watching the Bears, Yankees, and Alabama play.
He is predeceased by his mother Cecilia, and Father Walter. Joe is survived by his loving wife Linda; daughters, Colette (Peter) Fragola, Michelle (William) Bergamo and Melodie Landers; son, Shane Landers; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; his sister, Mary Ann (Theodore) Magnan, and one nephew, Griffen.
Joe was deeply loved. His infectious laugh and humor will be missed by all.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 - 7 :00 pm on Friday, April 19, 2019 at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY. A funeral service in celebration of Joe’s life will be held at 12 (noon) on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME.
