Joseph A. Valentino, Sr.'s Obituary
Joseph A. Valentino, Sr., 85, of Baldwinsville, passed away April 2, 2019 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Syracuse, son of the late Anthony and Mary (Gianni) Valentino. His entire lifelong work was in the heating and air conditioning field; he covered all phases of the trade from fabrication, installation, layout, sketching jobs and sales. After retiring in 1999, he went on to become a City of Syracuse HVAC Inspector for 17 years until retiring in 2016. He was a member of Local 58 Sheet Metal Workers Union, IAAC, and St. Joseph the Worker Church. Joseph enjoyed his trips to the casino with his wife among the numerous trips to Italy, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Florida, Canada, Vegas, Atlantic City and many other places. His family and wife were always first in his life.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Roselyn Valentino of 64 years, who he met on a blind date in 1948 and was the one and only love of his life. He was also predeceased by his sister-in-law, Gloria Valentino.
Joseph is survived by his children, Deborah Valentino, Kathleen (Jack) Root, Joseph (Susan) Valentino, Jr. and Vicki (Anthony) Renne; grandchildren, Lindsay (Jay) Enderle, Jaclyn Root, Joseph Valentino III, Michael (Lindsey) Root, Vincent Valentino, Anthony (Anna) Renne and Preston Mitchell; siblings, Tom (Nancy) Valentino, Stephanie (Tony) Rivizzigno, Paul Valentino and Julie Bowers, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, April 8, 2019 from 10:00 am – 12:30 pm, followed by a funeral service in celebration of Joseph’s life at 1:00 pm at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CNY Alzheimer’s Association or Hospice of CNY.
