Joseph Anthony Winguay's Obituary
Joseph Anthony Winguay, 57, of Charlotte, NC passed away peacefully on October 3, 2015, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on February 17, 1958 in Syracuse, NY and was a CBA graduate where he was an outstanding athlete and a star in track and football. He also attended Slippery Rock University of PA. Joseph was an avid golfer, NY Yankee fan extraordinaire and more importantly had a deep unconditional love for his family and friends. He enjoyed making people laugh. Joseph began his career in aviation with US Airways for many years before opening his own construction company in Charlotte.
He is preceded in death by a son, Joseph John “JJ” Winguay, nephews, Corey Winguay and Joseph Mackool.
Joseph leaves behind to cherish his memory his devoting daughters, Paris Winguay and Jasmine Winguay; sisters, Joy Mackool (Jack) and Nicole; brothers, Ricky Renzi (Lori) and Jeffrey Winguay; his parents, Jack Winguay and Joan Damm (Doug); his longtime companion, Robin Gaither, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 am on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Liverpool. Party to follow.
