Joseph W. Zippi's Obituary
Joseph W. Zippi, 89, of Liverpool, passed away peacefully on Sunday surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Dunmore, PA, son of Anthony and Mary (Perlitis) Zippi. He attended Temple University and also served in the US Army. He was a longtime member of North Syracuse Baptist Church and served as an usher and usher team captain. Joseph enjoyed fishing and Ham Radio and was assigned the call letters K2BYU. He retired from General Electric after 40 years of service and was employed as an Electronic Technician, Engineering Assistant, Instructor, and Technical Writer.
Joseph is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Barbara (Thatcher) Zippi; five children, Christine Zippi, Gordon Zippi, Lawrence (MaryAnn) Zippi, Joseph (Lisa) Zippi, Jr., and Maria (Dan) Fumano; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Calling Hour will be held on Friday, February 10, 2017 from 1:00 – 2:00 PM, immediately followed by a Funeral Service in celebration of Joseph’s life to be held at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
