Josephina (Scalisi) Caronna's Obituary
Josephina (Scalisi) Caronna, 93, of Liverpool, passed peacefully on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 in her home of 55 years. She was born in Bisacquino, Sicily as Giuseppa Scalisi and moved to Syracuse in 1955. She is a former employee of Nettleton Shoe and Learbury’s Clothing Factories. Josephina was a communicant of Immaculate Heart of Mary in Liverpool.
She is preceded by her husband Antonino; her sisters, Theresa (Gaspare) Scalisi and Anna (Anthony) Caronna.
Josephina is survived by her three children, Salvatore (Sarah) Caronna, Leanna Petrivelli, and Rosemary (Steven) Wagner; six grandchildren, Michael, Christopher, Jason, and Melissa Wagner, and Christa and Brian Petrivelli; two great-grandchildren, Jennasis and Aiden; her brother, Joseph (Rose) Scalisi; and her sister Mary (Paul) Scarsciotti.
Funeral services will be held at 8:30 am on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Josephina’s life at 9:30 am at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Liverpool. Entombment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 pm on Friday, December 21, 2018 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
