Josephine "Pina" (Spuches) Indelicato's Obituary
Josephine “Pina” (Spuches) Indelicato, 86, of Liverpool, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Monday, February 19, 2024. She was born in Sicily to the late Carmelo and Maria Catena (Giufre) Spuches and arrived in America in 1958 with her parents and siblings. She married the love of her life, Antonino on July 30, 1960. Pina worked as a Seamstress at Learbury's for forty years and enjoyed cooking and baking, and was especially known for her famous Italian Ricotta Cheesecake. Pina loved to travel, especially to St. Anne’s Cathedral in Quebec. She loved spending time with her family and friends and enjoyed knitting blankets for them. Pina loved spoiling her grandchildren and when it came to them the word “no” was never used.
She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Antonino Indelicato; her daughters, Angela (Scott) Group and Maria Devine; her son, Anthony (Tricia) Indelicato; her eleven grandchildren; her two great-grandchildren; her two sisters, Nina Russo of Sicily and Linda Chisari; her brothers, Sam and Anthony (Giovanna) Spuches; along with several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, February 26, 2024, in Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church, 301 Ash Street, Syracuse, from 10:00 a.m. – 11:45 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in celebration of Pina’s life at 12:00 p.m. She will be laid to rest in Assumption Cemetery, Syracuse, NY.
