Josephine "Jo" (Busco) Saladino's Obituary
Josephine “Jo” (Busco) Saladino, 97, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2023. She was born in Syracuse, NY on March 8, 1925, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (DiPierro) Busco.
Jo lived in Syracuse all her life and graduated from Central High School, Class of 1942. On January 18, 1947 she married the love of her life, Carmen Saladino, and they were married for 54 years.
Family was a very important part of her life, and she loved spending time with them. She especially enjoyed the time spent with her grandsons and attending all their activities. Our family always looked forward to our weekly Sunday dinners. Jo dedicated her life taking care of her family and was a wonderful mother and grandmother who will be truly missed.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Carmen in 2001; her daughter, Rosemary Oliva in 2019; her sisters, Mathilda Linn, Carmel Mazzaroppi and Antoinette Walton; her brother, Ralph Busco.
Jo is survived by her daughter, Linda Saladino, of Syracuse; her grandsons, Michael and David Oliva, of Liverpool; her son-in-law, Gerard Oliva, of Liverpool; along with several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call on Saturday, January 28, 2023 from 10 AM – 11:45 AM, immediately followed by a funeral service in celebration of Josephine’s life at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.), North Syracuse, NY. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum.
