Josephine (Fortino) Leonard's Obituary
Josephine (Fortino) Leonard, 92, of Brewerton, NY, passed away peacefully at Iroquois Nursing Home on Saturday, October 13, 2018. She was born in Syracuse, daughter of the late Enrico and Maria Grazia (Volpe) Fortino. Josephine was all about family; she loved spending time with family and friends, especially her beloved grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her daughter, Catherine Felicia; siblings, Carmen Fortino, Louise Buehner, Pasquale Fortino, Mary Bowles and Frank Fortino.
Josephine is survived by her 5 children, Elizabeth Smith-Steigerwald (Armin), Karen Franke (Dennis), Albert Reyna (Jean), Robin Lowe (Kenneth) and Barbara Tracz; 16 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Molly Werpachowski and Rita Boucher, along with many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 from 9 am – 12 pm, followed by a Funeral Service in celebration of Josephine’s life at noon in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum.
