Josephine O. (Ruffolo) Lovette's Obituary
Our dear, beloved Josephine O. (Ruffolo) Lovette, lovingly known as “Pretty JoJo” passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 15, 2021, at the age of 104, happily joining the love of her life, her husband Raymond, her son Nicholas Pavente, parents, siblings and other family members. Our prayers were answered, and she transitioned peacefully in her sleep. Born in Mendicino, Italy on February 28, 1917, to the late Michael and Emilia (Furgiuele) Ruffolo, Josephine was the eldest of three daughters and one son. She was a buyer for the women’s department at Sears & Roebuck and an instrumental member of the board for the CNY Humane Society; she loved her pets and all animals. Josephine was an avid romance story reader and enjoyed listening to music. She also loved to swim but her all-time favorite activity was playing cards and was still winning as recently as a month ago. However, at the top of her list was her family. Whether immediate or extended family, she was helping others with whatever they needed. Pretty JoJo, you were a hard-working, kind-hearted woman and people were blessed to know and be a part of your life. We hope you know how much you were loved.
Josephine is survived by her grandchildren, Kimberly Canino of Liverpool; Nicholas Pavente of Baldwinsville and Edward Pavente of Florida; many great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; along with several nieces and nephews.
A special thank you to the staff at Onondaga Center for taking care of our very much-loved family member Josie.
A calling hour will be held from 11 am – 12 pm on Wednesday, June 23, 2021, immediately followed by a funeral service in celebration of Josephine’s life at 12 pm at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Road (corner of Buckley Road) North Syracuse, NY. Entombment will follow in St. Mary’s Mausoleum, DeWitt.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Josephine’s memory may be made to the Humane Association of CNY, 4915 W. Taft Road Liverpool, NY 13088.
