Josephine "PAT" (Capone) Michalski's Obituary
Josephine “PAT” (Capone) Michalski, 87, passed away peacefully on Thursday at Loretto. She was born in Syracuse, daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Meccarielli) Capone. Josephine attended Solvay High School and Onondaga Community College. She was employed at General Electric and was a supervisor with Onondaga County Department of Social Services, retiring after many years of service. Josephine loved playing BINGO, going to the casinos and Las Vegas, music and knitting. The biggest and most cherished part of her life was caring for her children and grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Mathew W. Michalski in 1992, and her son Peter Anthony Michalski.
She is survived by her children, William (Cheryl), Mary Licalzi, Deborah (Stephen) Erwin, Bernadette Michalski and Jennifer (Michael) Ryan; ten grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; her brother, Salvatore (Laurie) Capone; lifelong friends, Lucille and Rosemary; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 11, 2021 at 10 a.m. in St. Marianne Cope at Our Lady of Peace Church, 203 Halcomb St. in Syracuse. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Family and friends may call on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Road (corner of Buckley Road) in North Syracuse.
