Josephine (Cincotta) Vadala's Obituary
Josephine (Cincotta) Vadala, 92, of Syracuse, passed away at Van Duyn Home and Hospital on Friday, May 15, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Lipari, Italy and graduated from Cortland High School. Josephine was employed at Maria Regina College. She volunteered at St. Joseph’s Hospital and St. Francis Day Care. Josephine was a communicant of Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church. She was also a member of the Daughters of Columbus and St. Theresa Society. Josephine was devoted to her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents, Jennie and Angelo Cincotta; her husband, Dominick Vadala in 1998; two sisters, Carmella and Jennie, and a brother, Thomas Cincotta.
Josephine is survived by her children, Dominick Vadala and Jennie Vadala Karoleski (Ronald); three grandsons, Anthony (Christiana), Ronald Jr. (Meaghan) and Michael; five great-grandchildren, Kaitlynn, Zachary, Christopher, Josephine and Ronald III; several nieces, nephews and cousins
Family and friends are invited to attend a calling hour on Monday, May 18, 2015 from 9:30 – 10:30 am, followed by a funeral service in celebration of Josephine’s life at 10:30 am at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Cortland, NY.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Building Fund at Immaculate Conception Church, Fayetteville or to one's favorite charity.
