Jovan M. Reyes Jr.'s Obituary
Jovan M. Reyes, Jr., 8 months old, of Solvay, NY, passed away on July 21, 2023. He was born on November 22, 2022 in Syracuse, NY to devoted and loving parents, Lanaya M. Wills and Jovan M. Reyes, Sr. Jovan was a loving, happy baby. He had the best smile, the most beautiful eyes, and a laugh that was infectious. He brought so much joy in the short time he got to spend with us.
Jovan also leaves behind his big sister, Reign Violet Reyes; his maternal grandparents, Thomas and Christina Cappetta; his paternal grandparents, Misael Reyes and Carrie Giles-Reyes, Jonaly and Stephen Ramirez; great-grandparents, Raymond F. “Pop Pop” and Lynda Wills, Thomas and Katherine Cappetta, Noelina Esquilin, and Carmen Rios; many aunts and uncles, Bryanna Wills, Aaliyah Cappetta, Christopher Cappetta, Cameron Cappetta, Tyson Cappetta, Raymond Wills, Ryanne Wills, Lisa Cappetta-Carter, Rob Carter, John and Rebecca Cappetta, Ronnie Herrara, Misael, Luis, Misael, Angel, Isaac, Isaiah, Shaqill, Noelia, LaReina, Marissa, Vanessa, Damaris, Mayra, Yarelis, and Adrianna; along with great aunts and uncles, Linda Wills Steinberg, Lori McCann, Lisa Remington, David Remington, Thomas Remington, Shannon Remington, and Tesslah Remington; and a host of paternal great aunts, uncles, and cousins that will all miss Baby JJ dearly.
Jovan was predeceased by his grandmothers, Dominga “Micki” Podavani Langdon and Rosemarion Shaw Wills; his paternal great-grandfathers, Maximino Reyes and Wilfred Roman; and his aunt, Mayra Reyes.
Special thank you to the first responders and Upstate Staff in the Emergency Dept. who worked so hard for our “JJ”, and to all our family and friends in the Solvay and Syracuse community.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, July 28, 2023 from 11 am – 1 pm, immediately followed by a funeral service in celebration of Jovan’s life at 1 pm in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY. He will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum.
