Judith L. "Judy" (Peckinpaugh) Rivizzigno's Obituary
Judith L. “Judy” (Peckinpaugh) Rivizzigno, 78, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at Crouse Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Cleveland, OH, the daughter of the late Roger and Ruth (Fraley) Peckinpaugh. Judy was a graduate of Syracuse University, where she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and was a proud member of Delta Gamma. Over the years she belonged to Lake Shore Yacht and Country Club and Skaneateles Country Club, where she pursued her passion for golf. Judy held various positions over the years with Syracuse Women’s District Golf Association, a not-for-profit organization that awards scholarships to young women that participate in golf and who are need of financial assistance. She was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed watching the NY Yankees where her grandfather once played. Some of her fondest memories were weekends spent travelling up and down the east coast watching her children play soccer with the Syracuse Blitz Soccer Club. Later, she could always be found on the sidelines of her grandkids’ lacrosse games, in the stands at the hockey arena, or at the finish line of a ski race. Outside of Syracuse, she loved her yearly trips to Hilton Head Island with her family and friends, where she would spend hours combing the beach for the perfect seashell. More than anything, she loved spending time with her family.
Judy is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Anthony P. Rivizzigno; her son, Peter (Dana Himmel) Rivizzigno, her daughter, Katie Spinelli (Timothy O’Shea); and her 2 grandsons, Benjamin, and Michael Spinelli.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, December 4, 2023, from 3:00 – 6:00 PM, at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (Corner of Buckley Rd.) N. Syracuse, NY.
