Judith Ann (Faciszewski) Stelljes' Obituary
Judith Ann (Faciszewski) Stelljes, 76, of Youngsville, NC, passed away at home on June 6, 2022. She was born in Syracuse, NY, daughter of the late John and Sophia (Dziewisz) Faciszewski. Judith graduated from Sacred Heart High School and received her Associates Degree from CCBI.
Judith had an extensive career at Christian Brothers Academy, starting out as a parent volunteer and later moving on to the development office, working as assistant to the director. She went on to become the Director of Special Events, where she was in on the ground floor of the popular CBA annual corvette raffle and search for the car for several years. After her retirement, Judith took the role of Director of Admissions at CBA. She was also the Star News Assistant Editor. An active member of the community, she was involved in the St. Rose of Lima scholar fund committee, an Ignation Volunteer Corps member, a former President of Green Lakes Ladies Golf league, a former member of the Cicero Parks and Recreation Board, and a volunteer at Dorothy Day House.
Judith enjoyed stamp collecting, a hobby she picked up from her husband’s grandfather.
Judith was a big fan of Syracuse University men's basketball and football, avid golfer, lifelong fan of the New York Yankees where she attended many Yankee games in person at both the old and new Yankee Stadiums. She also was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys, watching games every season with both of her sons. She was a tremendous supporter of her sons’ sports teams while growing up and throughout high school, from football and basketball to baseball, soccer and lacrosse, and an eager participant in the lives of her family, especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Jeffrey C. Stelljes in 2005, and her beloved dog, Hildy in 1993.
Judith is survived by two sons, Eric Gregory (Jennifer) Stelljes and Devin Patrick Stelljes; three grandchildren, Kyle Douglas Stelljes, Grayson Jones Stelljes, and Brooklyn Judith Rose Stelljes; her brother, Thomas (Dona) Faciszewski.
A Funeral Mass in celebration of Judith’s life will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at St. Rose of Lima Church. She will be laid to rest in Redwood Cemetery on Thursday, June 23, 2022. Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 6:00 pm on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
